The VIVA – Vontade Independente Viver Albufeira candidacy for municipal bodies in this municipality was not accepted by the Court, but the movement led by Ana Vidigal guarantees that it has not given up on voting in the October 1 elections and has already announced that it will file a complaint, for considering there is no reason for rejection.

As Ana Vidigal, councilor at the Albufeira Chamber elected by VIVA, revealed in a statement, in the first stage the candidacy process was "object of order by the court for containing alleged irregularities, subject to correction in the normal course of the electoral process", but the movement gave «the competent response to supply them».

"After the requested corrective process was presented, under the legally established terms, it was with total and unexpected surprise that the VIVA movement had its application rejected, taking into account that it made all corrections, as well as, in addition to the signatures initially collected, the movement , in just 48 hours, it collected a substantially higher number of signatures than requested», reads the statement.

Bearing this in mind, the movement will proceed with a complaint against the court's decision, "for the respect that the citizens of the municipality of Albufeira deserve to us, who, through their signatures of the proposal in a substantially higher number than required by law, transmitted their full trust'.

“Since we are aware of compliance with the law, we will calmly await the court's decision and the return to normality of the municipal electoral process”, concluded VIVA Albufeira.
