“Peste & Sida” and Miguel Ângelo, former vocalist of the Delfins, are the headliners of the 18th Youth Week of Mexilhoeira Grande, taking place on 1 and 2 September, always from 21 pm, at Polidesportivo da Figueira .

On September 1st, the night will be rock with one of the historical bands from the 80s of Portuguese music: Peste & Sida.

The party continues into the night with the “Pás de Problème”, a group that in 2016 attended the Super Bock Super Rock and the Festa do Avante. «The ethnicity of the compositions is just one of the many elements that make “Pás de Problème” one of the Portuguese groups» capable «of giving an unforgettable concert», considers the Câmara de Portimão.

This is followed by the “Damn Pussies” and, finally, the VJ Jorge Reis who will liven up the end of the night with great hits from the 80s.

On Saturday, the party starts with Miguel Ângelo, who will sing some themes from the Dolphins but also other songs. This year is “special” for Miguel Ângelo as he celebrates 33 years of his career.

«Tonight the group “The Quest”, a band from Lagos with a style of pop/funk, ska and punk, will make a splash with the desire to explore horizons and ideas through music. This is followed by the “Cranky Geeks” and the “Bubba Brothers”, a duo of DJ Algarve, which will make the public red-hot and dancing», adds the municipality of Portimo.

In addition to music, the 18th Youth Week also has the solidarity mission of helping little Clara who was born with a rare malformation and will have to undergo very complex surgeries. "Parents and the girl who live in Mexilhoeira Grande need to travel constantly so that their monitoring can be the best possible", says the City Council of Portimão.

The Alternative Association XIII decided to embrace this cause and support Clarinha and her parents. Admission to see the shows costs 3,5 euros. With the sponsorship of Rickytravel and the support of the Municipality of Portimão, the revenue from entrance fees will revert in full to this cause.

This Youth Week is also supported by the Parish Council of Mexilhoeira Grande and Sociedade Recreativa Figueirense.
