Monchique will dedicate a week to youth between 12 and 19 August. Theater, music, performances, or video game tournaments are some of the City Council's proposals for young people in Monchiquenses.

The Youth Week kicks off on August 12, with “Thô Xaringade e Mal Pague”, the Portuguese-style magazine of Boa Esperança, at 21 pm, which promises to attract young people of all ages to São Sebastião Park.

“Entremundos” is the proposal for the 13th of August, at 21 pm, at Largo dos Chorões. The show addresses «the traditional cultures of the Giants of Animated Forms», in a «walking performance of large-scale puppets, which, crossing contemporary construction and manipulation techniques, invites you to rediscover and recall the perspectives, forms and dimensions of a child's vision. », explains the City Council of Monchique.

On the 14th of August, there will be a Creative Jewelery Workshop with Natural Materials, in the square in front of the Espaço Jovem de Monchique, at 15:30. This activity requires prior registration until August 10th.

The following day, the Youth Week invites you to take a trip “By Sounds Never Before Navegados”, at Galeria de Santo António, at 18 pm. This initiative invites you to “discover and rediscover the sounds of the planet blindfolded and embark on a “ship” where the itinerary can be delineated by the pounding of a Senegalese drum or by the strumming of an Indian tampura”.

On Tuesday, August 15, at 21 pm, at São Sebastião Park, there will be a concert with Terrakota, in a “surprising fusion of music from Africa, Latin America, Brazil, the Arab world, India and beyond. A powerful discharge of grooves fervent, a transcontinental musical expression, a cry for the world to change course, a celebration of Freedom!” according to the municipality.
