Colors, music and (lots of) animation. This is the recipe for “Lagos Sunset Color Party”, which takes place on the 13th of August, from 18 pm, at the Polidesportivo Porta da Vila (“Campinhos”), and wants to “remain in the “memory of whoever goes there.

Artists like the DJ TobyOne – co-founder of funk royale sound system and participating in events such as “Bestival Fest UK”, “Bowlriders World Skate”, in Marseille, “Arrifana Sunset Fest”, in Aljezur, and in a concert in Wembley, a night that was considered “one of the best of 2009” by Timeout magazine.

To this is added the DJ Rhytm – already known for his presence at the “Milkshake Party” nights at NoSoloÁgua Portimão, as well as at festivals such as Festival F –, Kristóman – guest of the DJ Rhythm - and DJ Kwan, one of the DJ Official Mega Hits radio.

In statements to the Sul Informação, Diogo Rodrigues, president of (A)Garra – Lagos Youth Association, promoter of the initiative, set a goal: «to have 500 people at the party. We want people to feel the brand of what our association is».

As for the preparation of the party, "it is progressing at a good pace, although there is always something to be done", he added.

Even because the purpose is that this festival evolves "in five or six years into a three-day Youth Festival". For now "we need to test the level of the market and then carry out an assessment that will allow us to correct some issues", explained Diogo Rodrigues.

One of the attractions of the event, in addition to the music, is the paint battle that will invade the venue, weighing 200 kilos in total, to be used. At the end there will be a fireworks show.

The commitment of local businesses to this festival, through, for example, the sale of food, «was something that filled us with courage and made us believe that having local companies and entrepreneurs supporting this, and willing to support other initiatives, is great for the future of our city”, according to the president of (A)Garra.

The budget for the “Lagos Sunset Color Party” is 4000 euros and the idea is that the event “pays for itself”.

Tickets cost 3,50 euros, include a colored dust bag, and can be purchased now, either by contacting this association or at the Natal and Lagos Surf Center stationery. For each ticket sold, 1 euro will be given to the Lagos Volunteer Firefighters.

There will be a stand at the Hospital São Gonçalo de Lagos in the precinct, where, with the help of a nurse and a nutritionist, blood pressure tests, glycemic assessment and advice on nutrition for athletes can be carried out.
