A concert by Marco Paulo, inauguration of exhibitions, the reopening of the Municipal Library and the traditional procession in honor of Nossa Senhora da Luz are initiatives of the program of celebrations of the Municipal Holiday of Lagoa (September 8th), taking place from the 1st to the 10th .

It all starts with the show “The new generation of fado in the Algarve”, on the 1st of September, at the Municipal Auditorium. On the following day, the exhibition “Three figures of religious faith in Lagoa” is inaugurated at the Convento de S. José and the gala “Património de Lagoa, looking at the past towards the future” is held at the Center of Arade Congresses.

As for the reopening of the Municipal Library, it will take place on the 8th. That infrastructure was «recently expanded and restructured», explains the Câmara de Lagoa. Master Fernando Rodrigues will also be honored at the School of Arts that bears his name.

The musical program includes a show with Ricardo and Henrique, on the 7th, and on the 8th, Marco Paulo sings in the square bordering the Igreja Matriz. To end there will be a fireworks show.
