The popular music of Madeira Island will be played in São Brás de Alportel until Friday, August 18th. The Folklore Group of the Casa do Povo of Santa Cruz will be in this Algarve county until the end of the week, as part of a cultural exchange with the Rancho Típico Sambrasense, which includes several performances.
After having performed at the São Brás de Alportel motorcycle concentration, the Madeiran folk group performed yesterday, August 14, at the event “Calçadas – A Arte sai à rua”.
Today, Tuesday, the 37 members of the group work at the Home for the Elderly of Santa Casa da Misericórdia in São Brás de Alportel.
In addition to making known their traditions, the Folklore Group of the Casa do Povo de Santa Cruz will also get to know the locals.
Throughout the week, visitors will get to know the municipality of São Brás de Alportel and the Algarve «through its cultural, natural spaces and also through the traditional Algarve cuisine».
Before welcoming the Madeiran folk group, the Rancho Típico Sambrasense was in Madeira between 10 and 17 July.
