Tributes to medaled personalities and athletes from the municipality and the 8th anniversary of the Museu do Traje e das Tradições (Museu do Traje e das Tradições) are part of the program of activities for the Day of the Municipality of Silves, which marks the 3rd of September.
In order to make this space known to all visitors, on its birthday, 2 September, the Municipal Museum of Costume and Traditions, in São Bartolomeu de Messines, will have its doors open between 10:00 and 13:00 and 14:00 pm to 18:00 pm.
On September 3, the Municipality of Silves will celebrate, at 10:00 am, a protocol with the Portuguese Swimming Federation, in which the municipality adheres to the “Portugal a Nadar Programme”.
The ceremony will continue with a tribute to distinguished personalities in the county and to about a hundred and a half medal-winning athletes who stood out throughout the year in their respective sports.
This Sunday also marks the 27th anniversary of the Municipal Museum of Archeology of Silves, with free admission and guided tours, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 13:30 pm to 16:30 pm.
