The Chamber of Faro will contribute, with 32.700 euros, in the purchase of an operational vehicle for protection and relief (VTTF), to reinforce the operation of the Humanitarian Association of Firefighters of Faro “Cruz Lusa” (Volunteer Firefighters of Faro).
The contribution, approved at the last Chamber meeting, on the 28th, corresponds to 20% of the amount approved in the AHB application Faro to the Operational Program for Sustainability and Efficiency in the Use of Resources (POSEUR) which has an eligible value of 163.500 euros for this acquisition.
According to the municipality, «the acquisition of this equipment is an essential step towards the improvement of services provided to the population by the Humanitarian Association of Firefighters of Faro», as part of the «developed strategy» of «investment and creation of conditions, so that our two Fire Brigade corporations have at their disposal the best and most effective means of intervention».
In a press release, the Chamber of Faro he recalls the investments he has made in the two corporations. «In relation to the Volunteers, the municipality recovered, still in 2014, the financial support, after a long wait determined by the serious financial situation that it went through».
With regard to Sappers, he emphasizes the «acquisition of personal protective equipment» for firefighters or, more recently, the purchase of an Automatic Defibrillator, «which allowed the corporation to integrate the AED program provided for in the National Plan for Automatic External Defibrillation of the Portuguese Red Cross, in partnership with the Portuguese Red Cross Delegation Faro/Loulé».
The municipality also emphasizes that it maintains its "determination" to "get new facilities for the two existing corporations, so that they can leverage all their technical and human resources."
