A pleasure boat with nine crew members that was adrift off Barril beach, in Tavira, was helped and towed ashore by elements of the Maritime Police and the Tavira Life-Saving Station, on Friday, the 4th of August.

According to the National Maritime Authority (AMN), the alert was given around 14 pm, having been sent to the location “a vessel from the Life-Saving Station, together with the picket of the Maritime Police, who provided support and towed the vessel inside. from the Tavira bar».

The operation ended around 16:30 pm, with the vessel anchored inside the Tavira bar, in the Ria Formosa, in the Santa Luzia area.

The nine crew members aboard the vessel were not at risk of death and "all were in good health" when they reached land.
