The organization of the initiative decided to extend the vote to these countries, «thus allowing emigrants to participate in the election», explains the Albufeira Chamber.
This voting has been open since this Wednesday, August 30th. “Villages are the roots of many emigrants around the world. It's in the summer that they return to their villages, it's on television that they kill their homesickness, and it's for them that we open the international vote, so that they can participate and elect the wonder villages of their country», explains Luis Segadães, president of the contest.
"This is an unprecedented moment at national level in initiatives of this kind, as it is the first time that RTP itself allows international voting", he adds.
For each country there is only one telephone number and a voice message informs the number corresponding to each finalist, consisting of three digits, which must be dialed to complete the vote. For Paderne the digits are 103. The value of calls varies from country to country.
