The 16th edition of the Feira dos Frutos Secos, in Alcantarilha (Silves), will take place between 1 and 3 September at Largo da Junta de Freguesia. The inauguration of the building is certainly scheduled for the 1st, at 18:30 pm.
According to the Chamber of Silves, at this fair, «which has as its main objective the promotion of traditional local and regional products, with the main emphasis on dried fruits, such as almonds, figs and carob, various collectivities and exhibitors linked to the crafts, gastronomy and sweets».
The Feira dos Frutos Secos will also have musical entertainment, as each night is dedicated to a different theme: the first night is dedicated to communities, the second to artisans and the third to sweets.
The event is co-organized by the Municipality of Silves and the Union of Parishes of Alcantarilha and Pêra, has the support of the Regional Agriculture Directorate of the Algarve and is sponsored by: Aqualand, Delta Cafés, Crédito Agrícola Silves/Alcantarilha and Super Bock.
The committee comprises the People's House of Alcantarilha, Pêra and Armação de Pêra, the National Scout Body – Group 587 Alcantarilha, the GADAG-Grupo Aventura e Desporto de Alcantarilha Gare, the Parish of Alcantarilha and the Sociedade Recreativa Alcantarilhense.
