A collision between two cars, on the EN125, in Fontaínhas, Albufeira, this morning caused five serious injuries and forced the road to be cut, in both directions, between 5:33 am, time of the alert, and 7:13 am.
Source of the District Relief Operations Command told the Sul Informação that one of the wounded was evacuated by helicopter.
In addition to the INEM's heli and ambulances, there were firefighters, Cruz Vermelha, GNR, and Rotas do Algarve Litoral, the road concessionaire, in a total of 47 operational and 18 vehicles.
