80 people dressed in white, 200 performers and 40 musical shows made the White Night of Loulé «a huge success». The event that marked the farewell of the summer, last Saturday, brought together «a real crowd» in the avenues, streets, or squares of the urban center of the city of Loulé.

According to Loulé City Council, the participants "were surprised with original proposals that involved the public, providing moments of pure relaxation for those on vacation but also for all residents, from the west to the east of the Algarve."

Among the various entertainment points, the municipality highlights the performance of The Gift which «was, without a doubt, one of the highlights of the party that covered Loulé in white».

The municipality says that «between Largo do Monumento Engº Duarte Pacheco and Largo Gago Coutinho, a huge audience watched “live and in white” the voice and presence on stage of Sónia Tavares, dressed in black, contrasting with the predominant tone of the night. ”Gaivota”, from the Amália Hoje project, “Fácil de Understanding” or some themes from the new work of the Alcobaça band were echoed on the same stage where, an hour before, Algarvian Viviane had a very special guest at her side: Simone de Oliveira , with a two-part interpretation of the emblematic “Desfolhada”».

At the end of this stage were the electronic sounds of Karetus.

Music was a constant in Noite Branca, «of the most rhythms chill out as was the case of the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve or the A-Mar project, the Hip-Hop of Valas and the MGDRV, the rock of Rockestra that brought some classics of the seventh art to Loulé, the original suspended music with the musicians playing hanging from a slide, and lots of electronics with DJs inviting the public to participate in an improvised disco in the middle of the sidewalk».

In terms of animation, the fantasy hit the streets «with truly magical performances, on a night when imagination had no limits», says Câmara de Loulé.

Hanging from a giant balloon, a dancer/trapeze artist set the tone for the start of White Night, at the same time as a release of white doves.

A fanfare announced the party, while a group of mimes dressed in white and black lycra danced to the rhythm of the disco sound.

«Ballerinas with illuminated dresses, giant fish, Star Wars figures, jellyfish, butterflies, giant coils, articulated dolls illuminated on the façade at the Municipal Market, a parade of models inspired by Ancient Rome and much more in an unforgettable night for those who came to Loulé» , adds the municipality.

For Vítor Aleixo, president of the Loulé City Council, Noite Branca ended the summer in the best possible way. «This initiative was once again a huge success, responding in the best way to the immense expectations that the public had. I am convinced that these thousands of people were very satisfied with what they saw and with everything they could experience differently and that makes the Noite Branca de Loulé unique in the national context», stressed the mayor.

Vítor Aleixo highlighted this evening's important contribution to boosting the local economy, especially in terms of the city's restaurants and cafes. «It is also with our merchants and entrepreneurs in the restaurant area in mind that we organize a summer entertainment program in the municipality, which culminates in this evening. It is with great satisfaction that we note that, after a very competitive and strong summer for the entire region, trade had another opportunity here to generate important revenue», he said.

Finally, the president of the Chamber also left a note for safety, which is increasingly a factor to be taken into account when holding events. “On a night with a full house, there was no registration incident, which also demonstrates the preparatory work carried out by the security forces, in close collaboration with the organization”, concludes Vítor Aleixo.
