Pirates will invade the riverside area of Olhão between tomorrow, the 1st of August, and Friday, in the 3rd edition of the Pirata Festival, which takes place between 17:00 and 24:00.
The event «involves the riverside area in the pirate's daily life, populated by period characters, who occupy a special place in the public's imagination», explains the Chamber of Olhão.
In this third edition, the organization «is once again betting on a differentiated event, with animation, fire, fights, drama, music and dance», adds the municipality.
The festival will have a Pirate Market, in front of the Municipal Market of Olhão, entertainment throughout downtown and, at the end of each day of the event, a show in front of the Bom Sucesso caique.
The Pirata de Olhão Festival is an initiative of the City Council and the municipal company Fesnima, organized in partnership with Companhia de Teatro Viv'arte.
Admission is free.
