The streets of the center of Altura (Castro Marim) receive on July 29, at 21 pm, the “Tributo ao Povo” or, rather, the 00th Ethnographic Meeting Amendoeiras em Flor.
Through the streets of Altura, in an ethnographic parade, the ADASA Coral Group (Santo Amador – Moura), Biscainho Folklore Group (Coruche), “Os Avieiros” Folklore Group from Escaroupim (Salvaterra de Magos) and the “Amendoeiras” Ethnographic Group will pass in Bloom” (Height).
Under the theme of the “Bread Cycle”, this edition of the Ethnographic Meeting will highlight the figure of the “Moleiro”, an ancient profession linked to the grinding of cereals, especially wheat for the manufacture of flour.
The Associação Cultural Amendoeiras em Flor is a non-profit association that emerged from a group of friends with common goals for the development of activities and promotions of the culture present in this municipality and in this region.
The initiative, with free entry, belongs to the Ethnographic Group “Amendoeiras em Flor”, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Castro Marim, Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve, Parish Council of Altura and support from local businesses.
