Some of the hottest names in new Portuguese music will be present, such as Agir, Cuca Roseta, Carminho and Salvador Sobral (double dose), as well as some artists who have already registered their name in the “walk of the stars” of the Portuguese music scene. , such as Xutos & Pontapés, Mão Morta, Rui Veloso and Jorge Palma.

The poster for the F Festival, which the Old Town of Faro hosts from the 31st of August to the 2nd of September, was presented this Tuesday, the 25th of July, in Lisbon, and made known what will be an authentic meeting of generations of Portuguese artists.

Those heading to Vila-Adentro on 31 August can count on the headliners Xutos & Pontapés, Salvador Sobral, Dengaz, Samuel Úria, Cuca Roseta and BeatBombers. These are just a few of the artists who will be playing at F that night, as the poster foresees many more concerts, such as those by Mishlawi, Isaura, Peixe:avião and Farense Mauro Amaral.

On the 1st of September, there are Rui Veloso, Agir, Carminho, Valete, Mão Morta and Batida, who will be joined by Valas, Alexander Search – a band that integrates the Algarve Júlio Resende and Salvador Sobral -, Lula Pena and the Farenses Galopim, among others.

To close, on the 2nd of September, Jorge Palma, Miguel Araújo, HMB, Dillaz, Orelha Negra, Frankie Chavez, Noiserv, Júlio Resende & Júlio Machado Vaz and DJ Marfox will take to the stage, among others.

In addition to the extra day, novelty that the Sul Informação had already advanced, this year's edition of Festival F will leave the limits of Vila-Adentro and “embrace the Old City”, revealed the vice-president of the Chamber of Faro Paul Santos.

In 2017, a new area will be created outside the walls, which encompasses the existing garden. It will be in this area, in front of the former Fábrica da Cerveja, that the main stage of the event will be installed – there will be no stage in the Muralhas space. On the lawn, there will be handicrafts and street food. The enclosure will have a total of 56 thousand square meters.

The Ria Formosa thus becomes directly part of the F scene, joining its charm to that of Vila Adentro. A detail that is not minor, since, as illustrated by the mayor of Faro Rogério Bacalhau, the festival aims to «make known Faro and its patrimonial wealth».

Also Vasco Sacramento, from Sons em Trânsito, partner producer of Câmara de Faro during the event, he highlighted the importance of the Festival's "involvement", recalling "the magical setting" of Vila Adentro. «OF is inserted in this area of the city, respecting it and molding itself to it. I don't know of any other festival that has a sunset like this one,” he said.

In the presentation of the poster, in the roof-top of the Hotel Mundial, overlooking the city of Lisbon and the Tagus, some of the artists who make up the program were also present, in this case Samuel Úria, Dengaz and the Algarvean Júlio Resende, who will have the privilege of acting in the three days of the event .

On the first day, the pianist who, as he himself illustrated, was «lucky to be born in Faro and live in Olhão», will accompany Salvador Sobral on piano, with whom he will share the stage again the following day, with the Alexander Search project. On Saturday, September 2, he will perform with the well-known sexologist Júlio Machado Vaz.

Samuel Úria is another of the big names on the poster, who insisted on «speaking as a repeat offender», assuring: «I don't mind going back to “serving time” in F». "I am witness to the involvement and diversity of the poster and the corresponding diversity in the audience," he said.

Dengaz considered, for his part, to be "very good" that the festival should be made only with Portuguese names, something that, he believes, "in a while will no longer be a topic".

With the extension of Festival F by one more day, the party's budget grew "by a third", to a total of 500 thousand euros, half of which is "involvement of partners". Even so, Paulo Santos guarantees that the Chamber continues "with the same objective as always, which is that the event pays for itself", something that "has happened in the other three years". And if there is a profit, he guaranteed, it will be invested "in the cultural sector".

But, warns Rogério Bacalhau, whoever goes to Festival F will have to face a big problem: «with seven stages and so many activities, it will be difficult to choose…».
