In 2017, Festival F will be in triple dose. The event that marks the end of summer in the city of Faro and in the Algarve it will have, this year, three days, between the 31st of August and the 2nd of September, and it will be more accessible.

Paulo Santos, vice president of the Chamber of Faro, explained to Sul Informação that the increase in the number of days happened because «the public asked us, the sponsors also asked, because it is different to activate a brand in two days or in three. In addition, this year, we are going to have a new sponsor, which guarantees us the necessary sustainability to advance to the three days».

This sponsor, the Santa Casa Games, will also help bring another new feature to the event: «the F will have the festival seal accessible. All stages will be accessible to those with reduced mobility. Let's make adjustments to the concert preview areas. The new partner comes with this brand and, upon entering the festival, they demand and guarantee this measure. It was already our goal, the venues were already accessible, but now we are going to give other conditions to those who want to attend the concerts», adds Paulo Santos.

These are the biggest news this year at Festival F, because, according to the mayor, «the recipe is the same, we will continue to bet on Portuguese music».

For the responsible, the festival is achieving a place «in the national panorama of festivals, which are many. We are managing to grab and mark our space». Paulo Santos considers that the F has «several interesting factors to promote: heritage, the city's historical setting… It's a different festival and, therefore, we are, for the second consecutive year, “Consumer's Choice”».

Although F is a festival in Portuguese, according to Paulo Santos, foreigners are not excluded from the event and, «increasingly, we are looking for the Spanish audience, and beyond. We have a lot of foreign audiences and this year we will want to measure it. Despite not understanding the lyrics of the songs, they like the sound and like the event. We want to understand this: what makes a foreigner come here?».

Paulo Santos believes that «they come because of the good atmosphere, the accessibility, the diversity of the 12 aspects that make up the festival: the plastic arts, the streetfood, the cinema, the stand-up…”.

The objective now is to “affirm more and more the F, continuing with the same quality. The venue will be the same, we can't grow anywhere else, we've run out of capacity, inside Cidade Velha».

Two months before the event, all that remains is to know the names that will animate the city of Faro between the 31st of August and the 2nd of September, but there is not much to go and, in the next few days, there should be news, not least because «the poster is closed and we are just finishing up concerts», concludes Paulo Santos.
