The Porto Captaincy and the Local Command of the Maritime Police of Vila Real de Santo António are collaborating with the city's Parish Council in the youth school vacation program during the month of July.

According to the Maritime Authority, the program “is carried out three times a week, providing these young people with guided visits to the Captaincy and the Farol, as well as lectures on maritime citizenship».

These lectures "are aimed at sensitizing young people to the dangers of the sea, especially during the bathing season, investing in education and culture of the sea", adds the entity.

About 100 young people from the Municipality have already participated in this program and, according to the Maritime Authority, there are perspectives that "during this month more than 200 young people should participate".
