The EN125, on the section between Lagos and Olhão, «is already a real alternative to Via do Infante». These are the words of Rui Sousa, executive director of the sub-concessionaire Rotas do Algarve Litoral (RAL), responsible for works on the road that crosses the Algarve region from end to end.

Although there is still work in progress on the side areas, the works on the EN125, between Vila do Bispo and Olhão, have been completed. Fifteen days after the initial deadline given by Minister Pedro Marques, there are already unrestricted circulation on those 120 kilometers of road.

But there are still two important interventions: the Pêra roundabout (delayed due to the need to expropriate land) and the International School roundabout (delayed due to archaeological finds).

According to Rui Manteigas, director responsible for the concessions of Infraestruturas de Portugal, these works will be completed after the summer, between September and 31 October.

These statements were made to the Sul Informação at the end of a visit by journalists promoted today, July 14, by Infraestruturas de Portugal and RAL.
