The Montenegro Solidarity Party, which takes place on the 23rd and 24th of June, will have as its «main attraction» the performance of Quim Barreiros, on Friday, from 22 pm. For Saturday, after 00 pm, a solidarity sardine is scheduled, which will benefit the Socio-Cultural Association Amigos de Montenegro.
According to the Junta de Freguesia de Montenegro, which organizes the event, “it will be two days of great entertainment” and the party “promises real moments of fun with music, dance performances, marches and good gastronomic experiences with street food. of sushi and skewered pork».
"This festival is already a very important milestone in the life of the parish as it promotes interaction between residents and visitors and, at the same time, allows support for local institutions that work on behalf of the entire population," says the president of the Parish Council, Steven Sousa Piety, which highlights the spirit of solidarity that dominates the entire event.
“We have always counted on the precious help of the party's participants, who offer foodstuffs, but also cash donations, which this year is the most suitable for us to be able to help an Association facing serious financial difficulties”, emphasizes the mayor.
In order to facilitate the delivery of cash donations, a tombola will be installed in the party's premises.
Concentrated on Rua Júlio Dinis, the Solidarity Party opens at 18 pm on Friday. An hour later, the first part of a fashion show will be presented, followed by a hip-hop show by “Urban Expression”.
On this day, «honorific distinctions will be given to outstanding figures in the parish, a ceremony that will include a tribute to midfielder José Santos Pereira, founder of the Oncological Association of the Algarve and great promoter of the fight against cancer in our country», says the Parish Council of Montenegro .
Quim Barreiros, the headliner, takes the stage after the second part of the fashion show and, from 22 pm onwards, considers the municipality, “promises to liven up the parish with contagious music and its very characteristic style”.
«We have been careful to draw up a program that appeals to a maximum number of people, taking into account the nature of this party. But in addition to the nature of solidarity, we have not neglected the purpose of promoting two days of great fun, as joy must always be present in people's lives», stresses Steven Sousa Piedade.
On Saturday, the 24th, the highlight of the party will be the solidarity sardine. The musical animation will be in charge of Tony da Favela who will “warm up the environment with a very interactive show”.

Due to the Solidarity Party, which has the support of the Municipality of Faro, the traffic will be changed during the two days, which allows, according to the municipality, “to also increase the venue of the event”.
