The Municipality of Portimão has just announced that «the public presentation of the program “Portimão, Destino Seguro 2017” has been postponed, for a date to be indicated in due course, “due to the current and expected situation of Forest Fires in the country and in view of the national mobilization that is ongoing'.
The presentation was scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, June 19, at the NoSoloÁgua Portimão space, located in Marina de Portimão.
The presentation of the means and resources of reinforcement for the summer, by the security forces and civil protection agents, was expected, as well as a practical demonstration with an exercise of water rescue.
The presence of Luís Meira, president of the Board of Directors of INEM, was also announced, who would come to Portimão to sign two collaboration protocols within the scope of the reinforcement of medical emergency resources in the municipality for the summer season.
The protocols would be signed with the Humanitarian Association of Voluntary Firefighters of Portimão, which will have two Medical Emergency Posts (another ambulance than currently), and with the Portimão Delegation of the Portuguese Red Cross, which will have one Medical Emergency Station (equipped with an ambulance).
