The expectations of Câmara de Lagoa, that the Black & White night would attract 30 people, were met and even surpassed – the mega welcome party to Summer, on a very hot night, brought a sea of people of all ages and nationalities , dressed in black and white, to the streets of Praia de Carvoeiro.

The music followed on several stages, spread along the main streets of the town and even in the beach area, or in the new amphitheater on the promontory, next to the Chapel and the Fort of Nossa Senhora da Encarnação. There was Brazilian music, fado, jazz, pop music from yesterday and today, djs for various tastes. They danced a lot, drank even more – in such a way that some were already complaining that the caipirinhas were running out.

The restaurants, bars and ice cream parlors were also full, with many people taking advantage of the high temperature for al fresco dining.

In between, there was also animation, always in black and white, and everyone made an effort to take selfies or group photos, along with attractions scattered through the streets.

Among the people dressed in white, black and black and white, one element was common: the white and black hats, distributed by the thousands, by a real estate company with an office on Rua dos Pescadores. A masterful publicity stunt, which made the hats cover the heads of thousands, creating a very interesting chromatic effect.

To culminate the first part of the party, at midnight, there was a firework, launched over the beach and greeted with cheers and applause by the thousands of people.

Then, until 3:00 am, the djs gave music with sets well-prepared, by the thousands, young and less young, who let themselves stay on the beach and in the square, dancing and drinking, until late. And those who thought to end the night with a swim in the sea had to change their minds – access to water was closed and under the close surveillance of the Maritime Police.

The efficient free parking service in parks just outside Lagoa (next to Fatacil and hypermarkets) contributed greatly to the success of this Black & White evening, with revelers being transported, also free of charge, to Carvoeiro by bus. and mini buses that ran all night.
