The II European Footvolley Championship takes place from 22 to 25 June, at Praia dos Pescadores, in Albufeira.

This is "the biggest European event" of the sport and will take the "leading pairs" of footvolley to that Algarve locality, such as the teams of Germany, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Spain, France, Greece, Netherlands, Italy, Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom United and Switzerland.

Thus, some of the main figures in the European panorama, such as the European champions in title, Dume Susini/Anghjulu Plasenzotti (France), and European vice-champions, Nelson Pereira/Miguel Pinheiro (Portugal), will be present.

A qualifying competition is scheduled for June 22 with six teams representing six countries: Germany, Austria, Spain, France, Netherlands and Portugal, who are fighting for a place in the main frame, in a total of 11 decisive games.

The 23rd of June will be filled with the group stage, which takes place between 10:00 and 19:00, in a total of 24 games. On Saturday, June 24, the day begins with the round of 9, from 00:16 am, with the XNUMX teams fighting to reach the quarter-finals.

From 15:00 onwards, with only eight teams in the competition, four spots for the semi-finals are being discussed.

The semi-finals will take place on the last and decisive day of the race, June 25, starting at 14:00, followed by the game to award third and fourth places and the most awaited moment: the grand final, at 17:00, with the delivery, later, of the title of European champion.

During the event there will also be the participation of six female teams that will compete in an exhibition tournament, representing Germany (2), Netherlands (2), Italy and Portugal, as well as a VIP Tournament where some well-known names will be present of national sport.

According to Carlos Silva e Sousa, a mayor from Albufeirense, «Albufeira has long been considered not only the capital of tourism, but also one of the main centers of practice of the sport in the country».

“Footvolley has been a sport very much cherished by the council, so we are very proud to host this event that brings together the most spectacular athletes of the sport, stars of the sporting world and international media coverage”, he adds.

This European Championship is broadcast in LiveStreaming to the whole world on June 24th and 25th, with the live broadcast of the semi-finals and final of ABola TV.

Organized by the National Football Federation and the European Footvolley League, the initiative has the support of the Municipality of Albufeira.
