The Chamber of Silves will attribute a vote of praise to Father Manuel Almeida Condeço, current prior of the Parishes of Nossa Senhora da Piedade do Algoz and Tunes, for his “example of life and service”. This tribute was unanimously approved at the Silves Chamber Meeting on June 7th, following a proposal by the PSD councilors.

The approved motion highlighted “Father Condeço's life of service, as well as his commitment to the communities of Algoz and Tunis, in which he developed an important pastoral and human action, always attentive to the needs of others and defending human values ​​as well as those who were entrusted to his mission as a priest,” according to the Chamber of Silves.

He was also responsible for the creation of the 1293 Grouping of the National Scouts Corps (Algoz). The municipality also emphasizes its work in favor of the heritage of the parish of Algoz, «with special importance given to the protection given to movable heritage, where a survey was carried out with a view to creating a museum in Algoz, as well as the ever-present voice in defense of the Ermida of the Lady of Pilar».

This vote of praise was sent to the honored and to the Bishop of Algarve, D. Manuel Neto Quintas.
