Gourmet part of the mouth-watering jazz festival starts today in Albufeira

Beet Carpaccio marinated in Citrus Fruit, Feta Migas, Arugula, Spicy Nuts and Tzatziki as a starter, Cod Burger with Clam Marinated in Carob Caco Cake as a main course, Orange Pie with segments and Tangerine Sorbet as sweet, all this accompanied by wines from the Algarve.

These are just a few proposals to make your mouth water for dinner that may precede the three nights of concerts from Algarve Jazz Gourmet Moments Festival, which takes place in Albufeira, next weekend, from the 12th to the 14th of May.

Because, in an unprecedented concept, this festival proposes that, before listening to great names in world jazz, such as Jane Monheit, trumpeter Tom Harrel or Frenchwoman Virginie Teychené, music lovers can dine, with a specially designed menu and at very high prices. in seven of the best restaurants in the municipality of Albufeira: O Marinheiro, Veneza, La Cigale, O Alagar, A Casa do Avô, Mediterranean (at the Hotel São Rafael Atlântico, in whose large auditorium the concerts take place), and Pérgula (at the Grande Real Santa Eulalia Resort Hotel & Spa).

Hugo Alves, director of the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve, who promotes this original Algarve Jazz Gourmet Moments Festival, explained to Sul Informação that “to go to concerts, people don't need to go to dinner in these places. In musical terms, the first edition of the Festival Algarve Jazz Gourmet Moments kicks off on Friday, May 12, at 21 pm, with the first performance in the Algarve by the living jazz legend, trumpeter Tom Harrell, who, with the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve, will interpret world-famous themes of his own.

On Saturday, the 13th, it is the turn of the great lady of French Jazz Virginie Teychené to present her latest album, Still, featuring a very special guest on the harmonica – Olivier Ker Ourio.

Themes sung in Portuguese, English and French will surprise in the crystalline voice of this singer who makes her debut on national soil. At the end of the concert, there will be an exclusive autograph session with the singer.

Finally, on Sunday, the 14th, and to close the festival with a golden key, the unmistakable Jane Monheit arrives, bringing her latest album, Ella Fitzgerald The Songbook Sessions, in a concert that integrates his world tour. After each concert, the public can also watch the Late Sessions, a quartet that will continue to provide a magical and intimate atmosphere while enjoying a Gourmet Tapa accompanied by Algarve wine and admiring the sculptures, jewelry or pieces in cork and empreita designed by Algarve artists and presented here exclusively.

All concerts and Late Sessions take place in the auditorium of the Hotel São Rafael Atlântico, in Albufeira, from 21 pm. Tickets for each concert cost 15 euros and are on sale at BOL.

This event is part of the 365 Algarve program, being supported by Turismo de Portugal and the Municipality of Albufeira, and being produced by the Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve, under the artistic direction of Hugo Alves.
