Inmates of the Olhão Prison Establishment (EPO) took to the streets to paint various equipment in Fuseta, under an agreement between the EPO and the União de Freguesias de Moncarapacho and Fuseta.

Over the course of a week, a brigade of prisoners was on the ground and painted the walls of the church square, the exterior of the so-called “Casas dos Pobres”, on Rua General Humberto Delgado, and the walls and benches of Polidesportivo, in the Zona Ribeirinha.

«This was the second collaboration between the two institutions, after cleaning the sides of the Cerro de São Miguel road at the end of last year and the cutting and clearing of vegetation in the recreational area of Escola EB 2.3 Dr. João Lúcio, in Fuseta», revealed the municipality of Olho.

The Union of Parishes of Moncarapacho and Fuseta foresees the continuation of this «successful» initiative, which «allows prisoners some contact with the outside world and favors a progressive integration into society».
