The policy of the sea and its articulation at regional and national level will be debated at the seminar «The Algarve Region and the Country, 10 years after the PNPOT – The Sea», which will take place on Thursday, May 11th , at 14:30 pm, in the auditorium of the Coordination and Regional Development Commission (CCDR) of the Algarve, in Faro.

This initiative, which will be attended by the Secretary of State for Spatial Planning and Nature Conservation Célia Ramos, is part of a program of thematic debates around the National Program for Spatial Planning Policy (PNPOT), which are currently underway. be carried out in each of the regions.

This cycle of seminars «aims to promote reflection on the critical issues that should be considered at national level, based on regional territorial dynamics in the thematic areas of the National Program for Spatial Planning Policy», according to the CCDR of Algarve.

From this debate, it is intended to «identify guidelines and measures that can be implemented in the PNPOT and that contribute to mitigate trends of social and territorial exclusion and to identify opportunities, contexts, skills and synergies for the construction of competitive and cohesive territories»

In addition to the technical team of the Directorate-General for the Territory, responsible for coordinating the process of amending the PNPOT, they participate in the seminar in Faro representatives of the Regional Dynamics Monitoring Body of CRESC Algarve 2020, Maralgarve – Association for the Promotion of Knowledge and the Economy of the Sea in the Algarve and the Administration of the Ports of Sines and Algarve.
