More than a thousand wines brought by 110 producers from different wine regions of the country will be given to taste at the Espaço Multiusos in Albufeira between the 5th and 8th of May, in another edition of the Grande Mostra de Vinhos de Portugal.
The Confraria do Bacchus de Albufeira, with the support of the Municipality of Albufeira, is once again investing in an event that brings some of the best Portuguese wines to the region, but which will not lack the typical gastronomy of the region.
«Over the course of four days, winegrowers, winemakers, professionals in the sector and restoration, as well as connoisseurs – not forgetting Portuguese and foreign tourists who visit the region and who are already booking holidays especially for this date – will have the opportunity to know what's on offer. best is produced in a segment in notorious evolution», illustrated the City Council of Albufeira. The expectation is that the event will attract "more than ten thousand visitors".
Visitors to the Espaço Multiusos in Albufeira can purchase a tasting glass for three euros and set out to discover what the many exhibitors have to offer.
And as the palate of a good connoisseur does not live only from wine, delicacies made by Algarve chefs will be served in various show cookings, in what, according to the municipality, will be «a tribute to the Mediterranean diet». Other regional products will also be present, such as olive oil.
«The Confraria do Bacchus is extremely proud to fulfill one of the main objectives that led to its creation through this exhibition, which is to promote and publicize national wines, in particular those from the Algarve», according to Carlos Oliveira, chancellor of the Confraria.
«Currently, Algarve wines are in the best restaurants in the region and are highly appreciated by tourists who visit us, being a reference in local gastronomy. And always served with the knowledge and sympathy of our people, in a region of unique beauty», he added.
The mayor of Albufeira Carlos Silva e Sousa pointed out that this is an event that it «supposes the municipality itself, as it promotes not only regional but national wines, while showing the Portuguese and many foreigners who visit Albufeira that Portugal is a country of great quality in terms of wines and also a great diversity of producers».
