The Garvão Fair will take place in this locality in the municipality of Ourique, from the 12th to the 14th of May, presenting itself as «one of the most genuine expressions of our Rural World, an opportunity to present the result of the labor of those who work in the countryside, space of exchanges, preparation for the agricultural year and large movement of people and animals».

The program includes an agricultural exhibition, as well as musical and cultural shows and animations, among other initiatives, mobilizing the presence of farmers, breeders and the general public.

The meeting of Breed Garvonesa producers, on Friday, May 12th, the auction of breeding pigs of the Alentejo Breed, the Romane-Inra breed auction, the IX South Region Driving Derby or the Cante ao baldão meeting, in Saturday, 13th, and also the XVII Regional Contest of Garvão do Rafeiro do Alentejo or the 1st Pool of riding at work are some of the activities planned.

In land that even has a bovine breed named after it, one of the traditions of the Garvão Fair is the Corrida de Toiros, on Saturday 13th at 17h, with the participation of the riders Luís Rouxinol, Tito Semedo and Sónia Matias and dos Amateur pitchfork groups from Ribatejo, Cascais and Monsaraz.

The musical entertainment will be in charge, on the 12th, of Saramagos de Garvão, Sonido Andaluz and Ricardo Glória, on the 13th, of Dona Zéfinha and Quim Barreiros, and on the 14th, Sunday, of Ventos Alentejanos.

The Municipality of Ourique emphasizes that this event is part of its «bet on the Alentejo pig sector», being promoted in partnership with the Association of Porco Alentejano Breeders (ACPA) and with the Junta da União of Parishes of Garvão and Santa Luzia.
