A pleasure boat involved in maritime-tourism activity, with six people on board, when returning to the port of Sines yesterday afternoon, May 6, at around 17:00, it collided with a merchant ship that was at the Sines anchorage. The accident resulted in minor injuries and damage to maritime tourism.

The National Maritime Authority stresses that "the vessel returned to the Marina by its own means, without needing any support for this purpose".

The situation was monitored by the Maritime Police of the local Command in Sines, who immediately went to the scene to provide support and carry out police investigations for the purposes of investigation.

This accident resulted in slight injuries, which were assisted at the recreational port, and two of them were then taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The vessel will be "subject to an initial inspection to assess the damage and the necessary repair actions", and may only "return to the sea after a final inspection by an expert from the Port of Sines, who certifies that the conditions are met for can navigate safely'.

In addition to the Maritime Police, who took care of the incident, INEM, ambulances from the Sines Volunteer Fire Brigade and personnel from the Administration of the Ports of Sines and Algarve (APS) were at the scene.​
