O Lobo Vermelho, a children's theater show, will be presented on Wednesday, May 17, at 10:30 am, at the Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe in Vila do Bispo, and on Friday, May 19, at the same time , in the Roman Ruins of Milreu in Estoi.

The show, described by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve as being «innovative and contemporary», covers areas of oral narration, music and theatre, addressing the traditional tale of the Red Capuchin «in its various versions, perspectives, and symbologies, exploring also the themes of species extinction, childhood fears, developing links with the richness of oral narration and the profile of the Algarve's culture».

«Everything happens in a surprise scenario along the lines of the books pop-up, from a carpet of grass, where the characters walk and interact and from which flowers, houses, trees emerge, where two narrator actors question the truth of the tales, the oral legacy and the wisdom of the word, led by a multi character -instrumentalist who explores the oral imaginary of Algarve spiels with original music, performed by various traditional musical instruments from the Algarve», he adds.

The project also includes two workshops: “Objects are born objects” and “Ambiences and sounds”.

O Lobo Vermelho is a project by the Experimental Theater of Lagos, with Nelda Magalhães, Bruno Batista and Carlos Norton. These presentations are part of the DiVaM program – Dynamization and Valorization of Monuments 2017, a program organized by the Regional Directorate of Culture of the Algarve.
