The period of Public Discussion of the proposal to change the Municipal Master Plan (PDM) of Silves starts on May 17th. The start date of this process, in which the population is called upon to contribute to improving the plan, was published this week in Diário da República.
The proposal that will be scrutinized was drawn up under the Exceptional Regime for the Regularization of Economic Activities (RERAE) and «includes, in this specific case, economic activities of extracting sand, preparing and preserving fruits and dismantling vehicles». Even so, "it was prepared with the necessary scope for the regularization of other activities that may obtain a favorable or favorable opinion conditioned within the scope of the RERAE", according to the Chamber of Silves.
“This change is punctual and its scope does not determine significant effects on the environment. It aims to support economic activity and initiative, creating favorable conditions for investment, initiative and entrepreneurship, also promoting improvements in the employment offer and the economic dynamism of the territory, as well as the safeguarding of spatial planning and rationalization of the private/public investment. Thus, with these changes, there will be the possibility of allowing the regularization (and alteration or expansion) of local economic activities, promoting their economic dynamism and operating conditions», assured the municipality of Silvense.
The population will also be able to form their own opinion about the change in the PDM, by downloading the documents available on the municipality's website, where you can also find the participation form.
