Ricardo Paes Mamede, professor and deputy director of the Department of Political Economy of the University Institute of Lisbon (ISCTE-IUL), is the speaker of the next session of the “Contemporary Society in Debate”, which takes place on Friday, April 28th, at 18 pm, at Fnac Forum Algarve, in Faro.

The session, which takes place under the motto “What do you call someone who is dedicated to the study of economies?”, aims to show that “economies are studied by various social scientists: economists, certainly, but also sociologists, historians, geographers, political scientists, jurists, among others».

According to the direction of the Degree in Sociology at the University of Algarve, which organizes the event, “the multidisciplinary nature of economic studies and the problems arising from less plural approaches to economic issues” will be discussed.

This session will also feature the participation of João Albino Silva and Hugo Pinto, both professors at the Faculty of Economics at UAlg and members of the Center for Research on Space and Organizations (CIEO).
