The border of the Guadiana International Bridge, at the beginning of the A22/Via do Infante, was the entry of the country that registered, in absolute terms, the largest number of adhesions to the Easytoll system, with toll paid automatically only for vehicles from Easter. foreign registration.

According to data released today by the company Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP), the A22 point of sale registered 5.029 adhesions, representing around 34% of the total nationwide.

This was the first time that the number of Easytoll subscriptions in Via do Infante exceeded the number registered in Vilar Formoso.

In this Easter period, between Wednesday and Sunday, IP registered a total of 14.785 subscriptions to the Easytoll system, a 21% increase (2.516 more) compared to last year.

There were also 4815 registrations at the borders of the A25 (Vilar Formoso), 3559 on the A24 (Chaves) and 1382 on the A28.

IP adds that Thursday, a public holiday in Spain, was the one with the highest attendance at Easytoll points of sale.

The total volume of memberships on this day was almost 6.000, which represents 41% of the total memberships for this Easter period.

This increase in the number of adhesions, however, did not mean that there was no confusion at the entrances to Portugal where the Easytoll system for payment of tolls is in force, since, especially at the Guadiana International Bridge, queues of cars were generated.

This is despite the fact that IP has guaranteed the placement, at Easytoll's adhesion points, of customer support teams.

These employees helped to clarify users about the electronic toll subscription and payment process, having been, in the company's opinion, «a valuable help to customers at this time of greater affluence, which ensured a good responsiveness and speed of the process. accession".
