Young's Vista Restaurant Head João Oliveira, located at the Bela Vista Hotel & Spa, in Praia da Rocha, which received for the first time the “Garfo de Ouro” award and the Mon Chic, of the Head Louis Anjos, part of MacDonald Monchique Resort & Spa, awarded as «Revelation of the Year», are the two new entries in the list of the “Boa Cama Boa Mesa” awards, given by the newspaper “Expresso”.
This year, the Algarve has thus strengthened its position in this prestigious award, a kind of Portuguese Michelin Guide, but in hotels (Boa Cama) and restaurants (Boa Mesa).
Thus, the guide now includes four Algarve hotels – Conrad Algarve (Quinta do Lago), Martinhal Beach Resort & Hotel (Sagres), Vila Monte Farm House (Olhão) and Vila Vita Parc (Lagoa) -, as well as six restaurants.
In addition to the two already mentioned, the list of winners includes the restaurant «Ocean», from Vila Vita Parc (Alporchinhos, Lagoa), «Pequeno Mundo» from Almancil, «São Gabriel», from Quinta do Lago, and «Vila Joya» , from Albufeira.
After evaluating more than 1600 establishments across the country, the guide «Boa Cama Boa Mesa», which is already on newsstands, selected 423 hotels, resorts, inns, rural tourism units and local accommodation, of which 87 are new entries compared to last year.
As for restaurants, the publication includes 548 establishments across the country, of which 87 are new entries compared to the previous year and, among these, 38 were opened after the 2016 edition of the guide.
