Canned food and snacks are this year's Algarve Chefs Week “strong dish”

The seventh edition of Algarve Chefs Week, to be held from May 29th to June 4th, joins 14 chefs executives and luxury hotel restaurants in the region, with preserves and snacks serving as inspiration for the menus.

Of the 14 hotel units participating in this year's edition of Algarve Chefs Week, entitled “Consertiscos”, include the Cascade Wellness & Lifestyle Resort (Lagos), the Conrad Algarve (Quinta do Lago), the Dona Filipa Hotel (Vale do Lobo), the Hilton Vilamoura, As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa (Vilamoura) , Macdonald Monchique Resort & Spa, NAU Salgados Dunas Suites (Albufeira), NAU Salgados Palace (Albufeira), Praia Verde Boutique Hotel (Castro Marim), The Lake Spa Resort (Vilamoura), Tivoli Carvoeiro (Lagoa) , the Tivoli Marina Vilamoura, the Vale d'Oliveiras Quinta Resort & Spa (Lagoa), the VidaMar Resort Hotel Algarve (Albufeira) and the Vila Monte Farm House (Moncarapacho, Olhão).

And the proposals of these restaurants will respect the «regional gastronomic heritage and wealth». In all, food lovers can enjoy an experience with a themed menu at dinner for 30 euros (drinks not included).

Of this amount, 1 euro reverts to the CASA Association – Support Center for the Homeless, which, among other things, guarantees the distribution of meals to around 1500 homeless and needy people in the municipalities of Faro and Albufeira.

This year's edition starts with three workshops at Loulé Market, with free entry, powered by the chefs, where visitors can learn the secrets of preparing some delicacies and interact with the stars of the kitchen.

Sarrajão, tuna, mackerel, octopus, moray eel, black pork, poultry, sausages, cheese, honey, citrus fruits, dried fruits, seasonal fruits and vegetables will be some of the products used by all chefs for the making of your presentations.

On May 6th, the workshop will be the joint responsibility of the chefs Luis Batalha, Osvalde Silva, Miguel Lourenço and Adérito Almeida.

On the 13th, the chefs Miguel Teixeira, Jose Leitão, Luís Correia, Diogo Pereira and David Domingues presenting their creations. already the chefs Louis Anjos, André Basto, André Simões, Vasco Sampaio and Vitor Monteiro get their hands dirty on May 20th.

On the 27th of May, from 19 pm, the launch event of the Algarve Chefs Week. Entry to Loulé Market is free, but tasting the dishes involves buying a ticket, which costs 10 euros, giving access to tasting four appetizers, two desserts and a coastal feijoada made in the cataplana.

Those who participate in this launch event are also eligible to win one of the 14 double dinners that will be drawn.

On this night of celebration of the local cuisine, visitors will be able to know each Head at a stand in the Market itself, tasting some wines and local products and dancing to the sound of some DJ
