The Municipality of Lagoa invested 60 thousand euros in a garden in Mexilhoeira da Carregação, in order to allow the practice of Petanca, announced that municipality.
The work was carried out in a garden area “which showed some degradation”, in the square of Praceta da Ermida (between Rua de Santo António and Rua Visconde de Lagoa), in Mexilhoeira da Carregação.
In addition to the reinforcement of the Bordeira stone support walls and the ramped access in white pavement, this landscaped space now has benches, surrounded by grass, and an area for the practice of Petanque, in stone powder, with curb delimitation of limestone, all framed by new trees (olive trees and plane trees) and other shrubs and herbaceous plants, which will help to soften the hot days.
The Council of Lagoa emphasizes that the new space is mainly intended for "old age citizens who need places to socialize."
