Jorge Palma will perform at the Albufeira Municipal Auditorium on April 7th, at 21 pm. The concert's line-up will include some of the best-known songs by the Portuguese musician, owner of a long career and renowned composer, chosen from «all his published albums», according to the Municipality of Albufeirense.
On stage, Jorge Palma will be accompanied by his son Vicente Palma and by Gabriel Gomes (ex-Madredeus and Sétima Legião), a trio who will star in an acoustic concert.
«Vicente appears on guitar, piano or voice, accompanying Jorge Palma in some of the themes that they have been playing together for over a decade. Gabriel Gomes offers the sound of his accordion to create truly intimate and special environments», according to the Municipality of Albufeira.
Fans of the Portuguese interpreter and composer who attend the concert can count on some of Jorge Palma's greatest hits, such as «Bairro do amor», «In the land of dreams», «My love exists», «Estrela do mar», « Let me laugh", "Frágil", "Lean against me" and "Portugal, Portugal", among others.
«With more than 40 years of career, Jorge Palma is an unavoidable name in the Portuguese music scene. Composer, poet, interpreter and excellent pianist, he started to stand out early, when at the age of 13 he won second prize and an honorable mention in an International Competition for Musical Youth, held in Palma de Mallorca», according to the municipality.
The musician began learning the piano at the age of six, kick-starting a life journey 'always up to speed with music, his greatest form of expression'.
«He ran across Europe with guitar in hand, playing in the streets of cities like Paris and Copenhagen. He finished the Superior Piano Course, in 1990, and edited several original records, composing hits, adding gold records, reaching the double platinum mark with 'Voo Nocturno'. He won the José Afonso award in 2002, and in 2008 and 2012 he was the winner of the Golden Globe in the category of best performer. For his latest album “Com Todo o Respelho” he was also awarded the Pedro Osório prize by SPA».
Tickets for the show cost 15 euros and can already be purchased at the Municipal Consumer Information Center (CIAC) of Albufeira Town Hall and at Lídia Jorge Library, on weekdays, between 9:00 am and 16:00 pm, and on the day of the show. at the Municipal Auditorium, from 19:30 pm to 21:15 pm.
