The deputies of the Assembly of the Republic's Health Commission will be in the Algarve today and tomorrow, 20th and 21st of March, to visit health facilities in the region and to meet with entities in the sector and with Algarve mayors.

The visit results from an application submitted by the PSD and «is based on the dismissals of a set of CHA directors, the break in care supply indicators, which came to be confirmed last week and translate into a significant reduction in scheduled and urgent surgeries in 2016, the time available in the operating room, the 77 percent increase in the transfer of patients to private individuals, the increase in payments to private individuals, among other data», according to the social-democrat deputy elected by Algarve Cristóvão Norte.

The group of parliamentarians, representing the different political forces with a seat in the AR, will leave Lisbon today at 13 pm and will begin by visiting the premises of Faro from the Hospital Center of the Algarve (CHA), at 16:30 pm. Here, they will meet with the Board of Directors of the CHA, with the ARS of Algarve, with a representative of the University and with elements of the order of doctors and the different unions that represent the workers of the Algarve's hospitals.

In the evening, the deputies will have dinner with local mayors (20:00) and continue their visit the following day, with a stopover at the INEM Regional Delegation, in Faro (9:30 am) and a visit to the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center of S. Brás de Alportel, scheduled for 11:30 am.
