«Saving the Sea» and the animals that live there is the objective of the cleaning action of Praia Grande de Ferragudo, which will be promoted by citizens, with the support of the parish council of Ferragudo, on March 12, at 14:30 pm.
The main objective is, according to the organizers of the initiative, to collect plastic from the sand, a material that often ends up in the ocean, «damaging many lives». “On Sunday [March 12th], there will be a full moon. Because of the very high tide, the beach will fill with plastic», they frame.
In the afternoon, those who join the initiative will be able to “have fun, enjoy the beach, socialize with people with the same interests and raise awareness of the problem of plastic [in the oceans]”.
Bags for collecting garbage from the sand and the subsequent transport and forwarding of waste will be guaranteed by the Parish Council.
