This morning, electric cables and a gate prevented a scaffolding from falling onto the road, on Rua de Santa Bárbara, in Patacão (Faro). The strong wind that was felt made the structure topple, forcing the Firefighters Sapadores de Faro to go to the site and remove the scaffolding.

Even so, the situation forced the traffic to be cut for "20 to 30 minutes", revealed José Tomás Valente, commander of Firefighters Sapadores de Faro, in statements to the Sul Informação.

The “unlikely heroes” of the morning (the cables and the gate) prevented any injuries or damage to cars from this occurrence. The scaffolding was part of the “rehabilitation work” that is taking place in a building, said José Tomás Valente.

The (almost) fall of this structure forced six firefighters and two vehicles to go to the site, to which many mirons were joined, who wanted to monitor the occurrence.
