The renewed Pista do Arimbo, in São Brás de Alportel, was the stage chosen to start the 2017 Downhill Cup of Portugal, in the 1st competition to be played on the next 3, 4 and 5 March.

This sporting event brings the best national and international athletes in the sport to the territory of São Paulo, for the first competition of the highest national level competition.

Of the hundreds of registered athletes, from different nationalities and teams, two official teams, Madison Saracen and GT Factory, stand out, with drivers from the top 10 of the World Cup, such as Sam Dale, Matt Simmonds and Matt Walker.

The show has a meeting point scheduled for one of the most beautiful places in the Algarve, in the middle of the Serra do Caldeirão, and just a few kilometers from São Brás de Alportel, on a track completely renovated for the purpose, comprising 1.810 meters and with an average conclusion for the fastest athletes are around 3 minutes, with demanding speeds of 60 kilometers per hour.

The dizzying descents, jumps, sharp curves, among other technical characteristics of the track, test the limits and skill of the participants, reserving a place on the podium for the most daring athletes.

The track also features a new show area, an “artificial rock garden” and a spacious “paddock” with good access and logistics conditions to welcome athletes and the public.

The organization of this first stage of the Portuguese Downhill Cup is once again the result of the partnership between the X Dream Blasius Association, the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel and the Portuguese Cycling Federation.
