The towns of Benaciate and Lavajo, in the municipality of Silves, will be connected to the water supply network. On the 9th of February, the City Council had its candidacy approved for the national thematic program PO SEUR (Operational Program for Sustainability and Efficiency in the Use of Resources), to carry out this work.

As explained by the Chamber of Silves, the investment approved was 927 thousand euros, with a contribution of 85% (non-refundable fund). The work will take «drinking water to a large and well-inhabited area – Benaciate and Lavajo –, with the possibility of extending to Tinhosas, contemplating the implantation of more than 10 km of water supply».

The municipality is preparing the tender for the execution of the contract.
