The Urban Regeneration Action Plan (PARU) of Faro already have works to show.

The first three interventions carried out under this plan cost around 61 euros and made it possible to pave Travessa Ivens, rehabilitate Travessa das Flores and place more shades on the streets of the city's Historic Center.

The pavement of Travessa Ivens cost 8887 euros, the intervention on Travessa das Flores 15.106 euros and the second phase of laying shading screens cost 36.881 euros.

the PARU of Faro results from an application submitted by the Chamber of Faro CRECS Algarve 2020 Operational Programme, already approved, which includes a global investment of around 2 million euros, with a contribution of 712 thousand euros from the ERDF.

«The plan contemplates a vast and varied set of rehabilitation and qualification operations of the public space and of the built park with heritage value in the historic center of Faro», according to the municipality of Faro.

With this "example" given by the municipality, the Chamber of Faro believes that "by 2020, close to 30 million euros will be invested in the city in urban regeneration projects, which will make the city more efficient and competitive."
