This Wednesday, the PSP of Setúbal detained seven people and seized 120 kilos of hashish in a police operation to dismantle a network of traffickers that operated mainly in the Algarve, but also supplied the Setúbal Peninsula.

Six of the seven suspects were arrested in the Algarve region, namely in Lagoa, following eight house searches, which also counted with the collaboration of the GNR.

The operation, which culminated an investigation by the Setúbal PSP that began about a year ago, led to the arrest of six men and one woman, between 30 and 40 years of age.

In addition to the 120 kilos of hashish, seven large-capacity vehicles, a carbine, two shotguns, two pistols and other firearms, two bulletproof vests, gold objects, mobile phones, as well as around 60 euros were also seized. , in cash.

According to the commissioner of the PSP of Setúbal Maria do Céu Viola, in July of last year that police had already detained four other people, three of whom are awaiting trial in preventive detention, but the operation was not disclosed at that time as there was still an ongoing investigation. .

At that time, the PSP in Setúbal seized close to 60 kilograms of hashish, 170 grams of cocaine and 11 thousand euros in cash.

The seven detained this Wednesday will be present at the Court of Setúbal tomorrow afternoon.
