More than 500 athletes of different categories and of both genders coming from all over the Algarve will compete in the Regional Championship of Corta-Mato, this Sunday, the 12th of February, in Pinheiros de Marim, in Olhão.

The test will take place on the maintenance circuit that exists between the CEPSA service station and the Bancários do Sul e Ilhas Campsite and starts at 10:00 am.

In dispute will be the individual and collective regional titles of Benjamins, Infants, Initiates Juveniles, Juniors, Seniors and Masters, of both genders.

According to Clube Oriental de Pechão, one of the organizers of the event, "the best athletes from our region" will join Olhão in Olhão, including several internationals and the Absolute Individual Champions Ana Cabecinha (CO Pechão) and Jorge Varela (Areias S . João).

Also at stake is the collective title, which currently belongs to the clubs of these last two athletes, with the male title belonging to the Albufeira emblem and the female title to the Olhão emblem.

The competitions are organized in partnership by the Clube Oriental de Pechão, the Câmara de Olhão and the Athletics Association of the Algarve. Support comes from the Parish Councils of the Municipality of Olhão (Pechão, Quelfes and Olhão), the Arbitration Council of AA Algarve, the Union of Bank Workers of the South and Islands, Lusitânia – Insurance and local businesses.
