The problems and strategies for concerted action between the four municipalities of the Arade Basin (Portimão, Lagoa, Silves and Monchique) will be the central theme of the Jornadas do Arade, which will take place from 10 to 12 March, at the Museum Municipality of Portimão.
In fact, this issue will guide all roundtables and sessions, being the target of reflection in the spectrum of other areas and themes.
Even before opening the doors to discussion, the 10th of March will be dedicated to formative activities. Participants will be able to choose between two courses that will be held at Espaço Raiz (former primary school in Pedra Mourinha). Namely: “Associative Dirigism” and “Living better tomorrow: an introduction to the Transition movement in Arade”.
On March 11, the program starts at 9:30 am, with the opening conference dedicated to the concept that emerged in the last edition of these days – Aradismo.
Themes such as smart cities and sustainable tourism, urbanism and the role of the University in the territory, agriculture, fisheries and management of maritime resources, oil exploration in the Algarve or the state of health services in the region also promise, according to organization, "to give something to talk about".
On the 11th, the 20 edition of Rota do Petisco will be presented, at 00 pm, an initiative that is already in its seventh edition, and which is one of the brand images of Associação Teia D'Impulsos.
This is an initiative that has managed to achieve one of the goals of the Jornadas do Arade: uniting synergies of the four municipalities of this basin. There will also be a place for, at 21 pm, on the 30th, secondary school students to share their perspectives, questions and suggestions with representatives of these municipalities.
