O Interdisciplinary Center for Archeology and Evolution of Human Behavior (ICArEHB) of the University of Algarve will resume the cycle of conversations entitled “Archaeology at 6”. With the theme “Archaeology in Africa”, the sessions will start next Friday, February 10th, at 18 pm, and will take place at Club Farense, in Faro.

The first session will feature the participation of Frederico Tátá Regala, who will speak on “The caves of Gorongosa National Park, Mozambique. Speleological surveys of 2016, in search of the origins of Humanity.”

The next sessions will take place in alternate months, 21st April (“Archaeology in the land of Adamastor – how the first humans like us unfold”, by Telmo Pereira), 16th June (“Archeology of the Northwest of Mozambique – an anthropological perspective of the works in the Niassa Valley”, by Célia Gonçalves), 15th of September (“The culture of wine in Ancient Egypt – an iconographic study of the tombs of the Theban Necropolis”, by Sofia Fonseca), and 15th of November (“The beginnings of our species – the importance of Morocco and North Africa in the evolution and spread of the Homo sapiens», by Vera Aldeias), always at “6” in the afternoon.

In these sessions, as had already happened in the previous ones, the public is invited to talk with experts about the various topics, in an informal environment. “Arqueologia at 6” intends to bring UAlg archaeologists closer to the community.

Similar to what happened last year, the initiative continues to have the support of RUA 102.7 FM, Rádio Universitária do Algarve. All sessions will be recorded and made available on podcast.
