Sporting reached 2nd place in the 54th Cross Country European Champions Cup, both in the individual and team classification, in male seniors.

The competition took place yesterday, February 5th, as part of the 40th International Cross of Amendoeiras em Flor, in Pista das Açoteias, in Albufeira.

Rabah Aboud, Sporting athlete, reached the second place in the individual classification, as he completed the course in 30 minutes and 13 seconds.

The race was won by Italian Yamaneberham Crippa, who completed the run in 30 minutes and 4 seconds.

The lions reached the second collective place, thanks to the 45 points collected, against 37 of the Turks from Istanbul BBSK.

In the women's category, Irene Cheptai, a native of Turkey, was the big winner, with a time of 20 minutes and 28 seconds, while the team competition consecrated the Turkish team Uskudar Belediye SK as European champion.
