The increase in the international visibility of the Algarve and the promotion, dissemination and sale of typical and regional products, through the centralization of the offer on the “We Shop Algarve” platform are the objectives of the “Algarve Store & Business Online” project, by Associação do Comércio e Services of the Algarve Region (ACRAL).

This initiative will be presented on the 16th of January, at 14:30 pm, in the auditorium of the Coordination and Regional Development Commission (CCDR) of the Algarve, in Faro.

This is, according to ACRAL, «a pioneering project» and will continue «the work developed, in co-promotion with the Algarve Film Commission, in the “Algarve Positivo” project», which aims to work on the «internationalization of endogenous Algarve products» .

Companies of any legal nature, headquartered in the region, are the recipients of this "Algarve Store & Business Online", provided that they are dedicated to the production, transformation or sale of typical Algarve products, certified or not, such as: almonds, carob, figs, olives, citrus fruits, sweet potatoes, grapes, cork, red fruits or shellfish.

This list also includes products such as shellfish, sea salt, fleur de sel, honey, sausages, goat, cheese, olive oil, preserves, regional sweets, brandies, wines, liqueurs and handicrafts.

Adhering companies and producers will benefit, at no cost of membership, from the promotion of their products or services and sale courses oriented towards final consumers and companies, in a strategy of “increasing sales made to international tourists”, explains ACRAL.

In addition to this, there are other objectives such as «the implementation of tools that enable companies and producers in the region to prospect, knowledge and access new markets and collaborative processes of internationalization and knowledge sharing».

The “We Shop Algarve” platform, the central element of the project, «will have structured information on restaurants, nightlife, places of interest, commerce, typical products and articles, tourist entertainment, accommodation, cultural, sporting and recreational activities» , informs ACRAL.

Companies and producers interested in joining the project must formalize this intention by filling out a membership form. Participation in this presentation event is free, but registration is mandatory until February 14th.
